Oct 5, 2004 2004 draught @ Barfly in Rochester, NY. Pours a pale whiteish-yellow with some light copper tinges. Small white head. Aroma of tons of floral hops, light pale malt. Flavor is hoppy, but not hugely bitter, with a smattering of lightly sweet malt to round things out. As it warms, more honey/caramel tones appear, and the hops gain some citrus. The body, which was a solid medium, with very lively carbonation was perhaps the best part; it didnt die a watery death. Flavor seems pretty average, at least pretty fresh as well.

Oct 4, 2004 Pours copper with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma is lightly malty and floral. Taste is moderately sweet with notes of grapefruit, citrus and a medium dose of hops. The commercial description of this brew had me expecting a big PacNW hop character but it was pretty subdued. Somewhat of a bitter metallic aftertaste. Starts off with overly aggressive carbonation which mellows out over a a few minutes. Overall, not bad but not great either.

Sep 19, 2004 Bottle, from Julio’s. Bottled 6/23/04. Good nose, Sweet orangy grapefruit.Some pine too. Clear yellowie orange color. Small head that faded quickly. Sweet bitter flavors. Citrus, lemon/orange/grapefruit. Some nuttiness. Some toffee. Thin body.Syrupy mouthfeel. Dry bitter finish. Ok, but been done before.

Sep 13, 2004 A good pale ale. Has a pretty good hop presence with balanced malts. An enjoybable average beer.

Sep 1, 2004 Poured a dark golden color with a slight haze to it. The aroma was strong with hops. The taste was smooth and didn’t leave a bitter aftertaste.

Aug 29, 2004 This beer had a refreshing taste to it. It didn’t have a strong bitter taste either. It had a golden color. It is one of the good beers I have had.

Aug 26, 2004 Bottle pours golden, small frothy white head that settles to a dishwater like film, fairly attractive lacing, with subtle carbonation. Straight forward hops on the nose. Quite grainy on first sip. No real hop bite that I had in the aroma. Medium body, not quite medium mouthfeel. Finishes rather flat, not very crisp, with only a minor hop tinge but mostly grains.

Jul 25, 2004 the bottle i had was brewed december, 2002, and i just drank it this weekend so maybe that affected it. it tasted like goose island beer.
