Excellent aroma of mixed malt with a hint of berries in just the right proportion. Nice dark color with an excellent typically malty Otter Creek style flavor without overwhelming fruit taste. Followed by a full let down of an odd bitter after taste. Could be worse, but not the right combination. Should have been just the ale alone. Could have been great.

Nice, strong coffee aroma. Beer pours a deep brown. Malty, thick taste Less coffee in the taste than aroma, but still present. Don’t taste the raspberries, though. This was a nice surprise. Re-rate 2007-01-10: Lately I haven’t been able to get enough of this. Great, interesting taste.

Raspberry tastes like cheap Chambord. Better when its ice cold. Nothing special, but not horrible.

Nice chocolate aroma. No fruit at all. Med brown pour with little head. Roasted taste. Raspberry after the swallow. Fruit tasted artificial. Almost burnt taste. The name excited me, but the taste lacked.

12oz Bottle: Brown body w/ a small light brown head. Very light raspberry & sweet malts in the aroma. Not picking up on the raspberry in the flavor. More of a light choc. & hops thing going on, slightly bitter finish.

Pours a brownish color with an off-white head. Aroma is of raspberries, caramel malts, and slight roasted malts. Flavor is pretty strong of raspberries and roasted malts with some hop bitterness on the finish. The longer I drink the worse it gets though and doesn’t have much carbonation.

Bottle sampled. Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malts raspberries, and some caramel. Flavor is moderately sweet with raspberries, light chocolate, and sweet grains. A good drinkable brew.
