| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours a reddish brown, with a light head. Fairly weak aroma of caramel and raspberries. The flavor is dominated by raspberries, with slighly nutty maltiness. An earthy bitterness is evident in the finish. The mouthfeel is substantially too watery. Not a bad beer, but not a great one either. chrissy (122), Connecticut, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Tap @ Standings Bar. Pours with a nice thick head that sticks around for a while, never actually fades. The head sits atop a brown body with ruby tints. Aroma is roast-y chestnut and sweet nuttiness. I have not had such a nutty brew in a while, I was highly impressed. with the aroma and no raspberry to be found. Taste is clean nuttiness with a bit of sweet fruit at the very end of the flavor, would not even peg it as raspberry. It was surprisingly a good brown ale and definitely not a fruit beer. Maybe the draft is very different than the bottle because what I had was not as crappy as the ratings seem to indicate. kkearn (1010), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 29, 2008 12oz bottle. Clear brown, topped with a thin tan head. Aroma of cocoa, dark malt, and raspberry. Bittersweet chocolate, medicinal fruit flavor, earth, caramel and mild hops. Finish is a bit astringent. haddon90 (1036), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 23, 2008 Bottle. Clear, dark pour with a very thin head. Malty aroma with a hint of raspberry. Delightful, actually. Light and crisp with roasted malt notes. Light raspberry finish. Not a heavy winter ale, but not bad. MrBunn (1542), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 16, 2008 Bottle. A medium brown pour with little head and aromas of... well... not much besides trace amounts of brown sugar. Funny, but I was expecting raspberries. Anyhow, they come through in all their artificial flavoring glory in the flavor... starts off with a bit of a sweet toffee maltiness before heading to fake-raspberry-land. From there things take a turn south and head down the dreaded path of medicinal, rotten vegetation, cola funk. This definitely has its flaws, most of which are centered around the nasty aftertaste that I’m hoping will leave my mouth soon. blindeyedbetty (151), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 14, 2008 12 oz. bottle pours a chocolatey brown with a russet tinge. Aroma is that of stinky, sweaty feet covered in chocolate. Two or three brownish bubbles but this does not (to me) constitute head. Front flavor is chocolatey with a malty middle and nutty finish. Still waiting for the raspberries. Not a bad beer but not respresentative of the description either. SSSteve (2086), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 5, 2008 clear light brown under a small beige head. no lacing. aroma of raspberry popsicles. light bodied, thin, fizzy, scratchy, and sharply carbonated palate. mostly just raspberry in the flavor. it seems like they had a good idea, sounds intriguing, but the brown part just didnt work out.
