| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2009 I’m always a little gun-shy at impy’s that have an overly ashy aroma and flavor. Usually it’s a deal-breaker for me. As soon as I smell or taste it, it’s over. Thankfully, this beer had neither. Huge coffee notes in the aroma and flavor. Smokey, mocha, brown sugar and light toffee notes in the aroma too. Flavor is strong without being brash. Coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, charred wood and alcohol are all present. Long bitter coffee finish. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Could of used a bit more thickness. Worth the money (think i paid $7.00/22 oz bottle). bhensonb (4376), Woodland, California, USA
