| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 3, 2009 Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is coffee and molasses. Taste is dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, espresso, alcohol. Surprisingly thin for a beer so big and flavorful. Long finish of coffee and brownies. Great beer, but with less alcohol and more body it would be outstanding. bb (2919), Martinez, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2009 Most impressive I’ve tasted on the Otter Creek line. Lots of roasty aromas and flavors. Deep chocolate appearance. An enticing hint of cherry/raspberry fruit behind that essential first sip. A good russian imperial that hides its alcohol very well. mreusch (729), Olathe, Kansas, USA

Aroma is licorice, dark fruits, anise and other spices, chocolate and light espresso. Flavor is more of the same, with licorice, chocolate, spice and light espresso. This leans a bit medicinal at times but otherwise is a unique and interesting RIS. Thanks again Tom!

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2009 Bottle Pours a deep black with a creamy tan head. The head last well and laces great. Has a good aroma of roasted chocolate, sweet fruits and alcohol. Has a good carbination and a zingy mouthfeel. Has a nice alcohol burn. The flavors are good and party on the tongue. Definetly has a good alchol bite. A heavy body and a real strong finish. Has a watery texture. Not as thick as I would expect. A good drinking stout with a kick butt attitude. blankboy (3207), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
