I’m a little more impressed with this than most of my brethren. Pours a beautiful inky black with a nice brown head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate with some sweet malt and molasses. Flavor is coffee and chocolate with a hint of sweetness and a nice bitter finish. Very good.

Nov 29, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with burgundy edges. Topped with a 1/2" creamy brown cap and rings of brown lace. Aroma is bitter bakers chocolate and coffee. Palate is heavy with a low level of carbonation. Starts out bitter and ashy, but mellows out as it warms. Flavor is sweet chocolate, espresso coffee with some vanilla notes. Very good.

Nov 28, 2009 22. pours black with a loose and short lived burnt tan head. huge salty soy and teriyaki nose. creamy, somewhat sticky medium body. roasty, salty, soy like mid palate. too sticky, too sweet, too salty. long sticky finish.

Nov 26, 2009 On draught. Dark brown, almost black thick pour with a medium dark brown head. Aroma of alcohol, chocolate and faint hops. Taste is dominated by alcohol, along with bitter chocolate and dark fruit. Lasting alcohol finish.

Nov 24, 2009 You know its black. What do you expect. Well malt dark brown. Tan head is pleased to meet you, and that’s it. Alcohol, and sweet plum aroma with a little almond. Flavor is watery roasted malt and nut. Very smooth and non-alcohol saturated tasting. Only a slight hiccup after sipping. Is this beer or wine? Roasted malt wine I think...

Nov 23, 2009 Bottle thanks to Cletus. Dark black pour, medium carbation and an aroma of chocolate and red wine(?). Viscous mouthfeel, flavor is plenty of roasted/smoky malts, rich chocolate, vanilla and finishes a little boozy/spicy on the finish. Pretty good stuff, I would recommend seeking out a bottle if you like Russian imperial Stouts.

Nov 21, 2009 First beer on the new rating system....gotta say this is stupid. Dont like it even a little. Anyhow.......Pours a deep brown with a fluffy tan head. Aroma is of cocoa and dark fruit. Taste is similar, but as far as Imp Stouts go its a little weak and watery with a borderline cloying palate. Chocolate dominates the flavor, light coffee and dark fruit. Not bad but not great.

Nov 20, 2009 Bottle - Poured a rich black with small tight foam head. Robust roast on the nose with hints of chocolate. Malt smooth with chocolate and mild hop notes. Coats the tongue, has a coco liquor texture to it. Some slight bitterness. Very enjoyable.

Nov 18, 2009 This beer pours black with a thin creamy tan head. The aromas are Coffee and chocolate. The flavors are dark chocolate vanilla and a some roasted coffee. All in all not a bad offering for an imperial stout! Cheers!
