yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Sep 22, 2009 Really enjoyable and smooth on cask. Dark rich pour. Aroma has some roasted malts and sweetness with mellow hops in the background. Flavor is sweet and smooth with dark rich roasted malts and hops. Some coffee and dark bittersweet chocolate. williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Aug 30, 2009 * Reddish black; thin head
* A glassy look, light comes through at the edges
* Roasted, bitter coffee malt aroma
* Additional smells of semi-sweet chocolate
* Feels smooth and oily; not at all dry
* Taste of sweetish grapes and dates. Plum with bitter coffee.
* Really more sweet than bitter
* The alcohol really busts out at the finish
* Quite a solid beer Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2009 On tap at American Flatbread, Burlington, August 3 2009. A 2007 edition. A clear dark brown porter with a thim moka head, very still. In aroma, nutty and milky chocolate, with a bit of boiled veggies. In mouth, a rather light chocolate porter with a bit of molasse, rather thin bodied. Aging this one may not be the best..... gwpom (246), Akron, New York, USA May 2, 2009 Magnum. Fine beer. Deep dark pour, big foamy head.. but nice and smooth. I really haven’t had enough of the world’s best baltic porters.. so all I can do is say I liked it, and I would buy it again. Smooth and creamy. A nice beer. jeremytoni (1070), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Apr 7, 2009 From a bottle poured black with a very small head. Nice smotth malty/smokey flavor with a quick finish. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Feb 24, 2009 Bomber courtesy of far333 – thanks Frank! Pours black with mahogany hues and a one finger beige head that fades into a ring but still leaves spotty lacing. The nose is brownies and roasted malt. The taste is milk chocolate, cocoa and lactose with some roasty malts in the finish. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Decent porter. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Feb 19, 2009 Pours brown with a light brown head. Smells of pepper, roasted malt. Tastes peppery with some roasted malt and chocolate hints. Decent but not true to style. bvc (227), Kenmore, Washington, USA Feb 14, 2009 22oz bottle shared by riversideAK. Pours a very dark, almost black, murky brown with a off-white head. Roasty chocolate nose and taste is more of the same and a bit heavy on the carbonation for me. Clean and drinkable, but nothing exciting.
