Commercial Description:
Otter Creek World Tour - Next Stop: The Baltic States. People of the Baltic states like their bread hearty and dark, and their porter is no different. Baltic porters are full of deep roasted malt flavor with only a touch of hops. These beers will warm you up - a much needed feature in these countries where winters are harsh and long. Foreigners wonder how they survive there. I think I have found the answer. Now you can enjoy the full hearty flavor of a Baltic porter here in the comfort of your homeland. TERVIST!

Courtesy of Gilliard. The aroma is dusty with overcooked fruit notes, earth and fresh unwashed veggie notes. Some fairly noticeable alcohol too. The body is a ruddy brown with a receding tan head. The flavor is earthy, herbal, roasted malt and chocolate, dark rye bread and some mild sweetness, but that earthy/durty flavor is off putting.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown with some reddish highlights when held against sunlight. Moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate and lightly roasted malt. The flavor is again chocolate and lightly roasted malt, along with a bit of coffee. Mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. A very solid porter.

Bottle. Pours very deep ruby with a beige head. Roasted aroma, with coffee, toast, vanilla, and maple syrup. Medium body. Flavor is again roasted coffee, with caramel, vanilla, and a light smokiness. Quite good.

22 oz. bomber shared with santoslhalper. Pours black with red hues and a small, khaki head. Raisin, plum, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Taste is sweet plum and chocolate, raisin, dates, slight coffee roast, sweet with mild hop flavor and moderate to light bitterness. Solid.

Bottle. Dark brown, blackish pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate and burnt coffee. Taste of coffee, chocolate, smoked nuts and a hint of vanilla with a medium body. Strong dry hoppy finish. Great porter!

Poured a dark, nearly opaque mahogany color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla beans, and a touch of dark fruits. Taste was equally as roasty, with more chocolate, a bit of smoke, and some caramel, vanilla, and a dry finish. Thanks Mike!

From a 1 pt. 6 fl. oz bottle with no lot code or expiration date that I can spot. Pours dark brown with a tan/beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate or coffee and raisins. There is not smoked scent like some porters. There’s a wee bit of hops in the flavor as well as a bit of coffee. But altogether this goes down very smooth and creamy. One of the better porters I have sampled recently.
