Commercial Description:
Our 12th "stop" on the World Tour: "Sphinx" is an Egyptian-inspired multigrain ale brewed with Vermont honey and chamomile. The Ancient Egyptians were the first to brew beer, and they also were the first to grow many of the grains we use today. We brewed this golden ale with spelt, millet, rye, oats, barley, and wheat; for a well-deserved tribute to the ancient inventors of beer.

(22oz bottle) Small white head atop crystal clear apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, chamomile, some honey. Taste is medium sweet, chamomile, light bread. Light-medium body. Really remarkable how strong the chamomile is -- never had anything like it. Certainly enjoyable, but can’t say I love it.

22oz bottle-pours a dissipating white head and yellow/gold color. OK, after having half the bottle found yeast is at the bottom. Second half is hazy yellow/gold. Aroma is honey, herbal/floral/perfumy, light malt-bready. Taste is ginger/nutmeg-spice. OK carbonation. Interesting. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for sharing.

Pours copper and hazy with a white head. Smells of honey, spicy, earthy, tea, caramel, some sweetness I can’t quite place. Taste is multi-layered with lots of spicy elements and a nice mellow hint of chamomile on the finish. One of the best World Tour releases to date from this brewer.

Slightly hazy pale golden beer. White head. The aroma is really interesting. Strong sweet cookie-dough nose with a lot of vanilla and soft biscuity malts. It smells a bit like Southern Tier’s Pumpking, but without all of the spiciness that defines that beer. A sweet sort of caramelly pie crust sweetness that I think works really well. Softly sweet with a kiss of gingery spice. It’s sort of granola-esque. It’s surprisingly tasty.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours deep gold with 1-finger white head. Nose is bready pale malt, perfumy florals, yeasty spice. Tastes tart, citric, with spice, bready grainy malt, and earthy yeast. The flavor profile is unlike any beer I’ve had before it, but it doesn;t blow me out of the water. Interesting but not great.

Bottle. Pours a golden orange body with 1/8" white head. Malty rye, oats. Honey and chamomile. Lightly soapy with hints of honey. Not crazy about this.

Poured a lightly hazy, dark golden color with a medium sized, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of chamomile, honey, citrus, rye, and vanilla. Taste of honey, vanilla, rye, sour grapes, green apple, chamomile, and a dry, citric finish.

Thanks to egajdzis for sharing. Pours a mostly translucent copper with golden notes and a medium creamy white head. Aroma of honey, Ginger, a bunch of other spices I can’t pinpoint, sweet and malty, honey, orange and woody. Flavor of honey, floral, Ginger, malty sweet and other mixed spices.
