HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Oct 20, 2009 Bottle ( 12oz ). Slightly hazy pale gold, smallish fizzy white head. Pleasant fresh grain and clover aroma, a little bit of floral sweetness and dry earthiness. The taste is simpler - slightly sweet grain and some light dry floral/herbal bitterness - simple, no corn; tasty. Appropriately light-bodied, slightly chewy, light carbonation, nice dry slightly earthy grain finish - well done, Otter Creek! bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Aug 24, 2009 ྫྷoz bottle) Pours a clear yellow body with a medium white head. Aroma of toasted grain, honeycomb, wheat, and nuts. Flavor of honey, cereal, grain, and light grass with a dry finish. rampmaster (314), Alden, New York, USA Aug 3, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. The bottle has a born on date of 2-5-09 and it was sampled on 6-3-09.
Appearance: The body has a light golden color with good clarity and some visible carbonation. On top sits a small bright white head that fades quickly, down to just a thin ring of slick lace.
Smell: Its aroma is clean and light. There are some light pale malt notes with some modest clean hope notes.
Taste/Mouth: The flavor starts with a light to medium body, crisp pale malts with maybe just a hint of fruit notes and mellow hops in prefect balance. The carbonation is soft yet active giving it a fun lively texture with a quick, crisp and dry finish.
Notes: The light crisp and fairly clean character makes this a nice average tasting summer drink.
Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Aug 2, 2009 Pours pale straw color with a large white head. Smells of grapes, some perfume, dry malt. Tastes floral and dry with some light malt presence on the finish. Elwood (659), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Jun 22, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a crystal clear gold with a one inch, pillowy, white head. Light, fruity nose with a little bit of cracker, grain, and crisp hops. Lots of potential here. Medium carbonation with a light mouthfeel. Honey, light melon, and a bitterness that balances things well. Also a little floral note that reminds me of honeysuckle. Short finish. The taste was a little underwhelming and even a touch watery. Lacking in crispness. Could use a bit of dryness too. Not terrible by any means, just not the best Kolsch I’ve ever had. yobdoog (1425), Woodridge NY, New York, USA May 14, 2009 Draft. Light golden with a small fluffy head. Aroma and taste is very light and crisp. A hint of citrus on top of caramel and a lingering Pepe Le Pew taste. Drinkable but not great. GuilTTy (527), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA May 1, 2009 Bottle from Canals in Lawrenceville. Clear golden pour with a thin white head and very little lacing. Mildly malty and biscuity aroma. Touch of apple and citrus in an otherwise faintly malty flavor. Nice crisp texture and a clean finish. I wouldn’t seek this one out again but I would gladly accept one in lieu of a macro on a hot afternoon. michael-pollack (2601), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 4, 2009 Draught at Capone’s: Faint aroma of malts and grains. Poured gold/yellow in color with a medium-sized, creamy, white head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Slightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is slightly sweet. Tastes of pale malts, light grians, slight vegetables, and corn. Light to medium body. Lightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Grain and pale malt finish.
