LiebeBier (734), RIchmond, Virginia, USA Feb 23, 2008 Bottle - Clear golden color with a moderate white head. Aroma is sweet, slightly butterscotch, malty and grassy. I have really come to enjoy the simple complexity that Kolsch beers present. Malt body with the sweet flavors of the malted wheat coming through. I prefer my Kolsch a bit crisper, but did enjoy this and would buy it again.
darn1207 (193), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 15, 2008 12oz bottle. pale gold pour with thin white head. interesting aroma of spice, caramel, grass and cereal. taste of bready malt and mild hops. also some honey. thin mouthfeel. doesn’t seem like kolsch to me. bennylava (46), California, USA Jul 3, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours pale yellow color with an abundant frothy white head. Most prominent note in the aroma is from the malt. Very tasty beer, light but not lacking flavor. Not as crisp as a pils and I would call the finish a little sweet, not dry.
jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 14, 2008 12 oz bottle-pours a thin white head that laces and yellow color. Aroma is light/medium malt-bready, secondary spice/herbal-hops, some yeast. Taste is light/medium malt-bready, spice/herbal-hops, some yeast. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out. nearbeer (1076), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 6, 2008 12 oz, bottled 1/15/08. Clear orange golden with a one-finger head that settles to a lasting ring. Grain, honey, slight lemongrass and cinnamon on the nose. Roasted corn, light caramel apple, and drying grassy-woody hop flavor are well-balanced. A hint of an earthy, roasted aftertaste appears near the end of the glass. Light-medium body is smooth, slightly tingly, dryish, and refreshing. MaltDawg (221), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 2, 2008 Clear light straw color with course head.
Light grainy malt aroma with some fruity spicey yeast character. Cereal and honey notes in flavor over sweet grainey malt with a bit of spicey hops.
Lightly sweet finish. Good interpretation of classic style.
