12 oz. bottle. Pours black/brown with red hues, topped by a half finger of dark khaki head that dissipates quickly to a filmy growth. Roast and toasted malt nose with a slight hop aroma, grassy. Taste is slight roast with some chocolate and caramel, a good dose of bitter and some grassy hops. A touch metallic. Mouth feel seems a bit watery. Just OK. Not really a stand out porter.

Really nice roasty/toasty amoma, flavor is the same. A little watery on the pallate, but the roasted malt is really nice. Nothing stands out to make this outstanding, but certainly a good example of a porter.

Very dark thin pour with a light brown head head. Slight brandy in the aroma - further sniffing detects lighter fluid and chewing gum. Mouth feel is thin and watery with a mild roast malt flavor. The bitterness is very even adn pulls out the somewhat weak roast nuttiness. The third and fourth sips are bitter - still quite thin, but pleasant. I would buy this occasionally for a change - or give it to unexpected visitors...

Bottle purchased at D’s Six Pax. Pours dark ruby, thin off white head. Aroma is chocolate, malt, anise, toffee, smoke, coffee. Flavor is the same and roasted with a decent porter body. There’s a good amount of bitterness in this beer.

Pours a deep brown with a light beige head.Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate. Taste is malty but surprisingly more hoppiness than I would have expected. A bit bitter coffee finish.

2/29/08 notes: bottle. An economical way to get flavor for a good price (I got it for $7.39/6 pk!) Very drinkable. Pours a dark brown with minimal head. Smooth palate, and flavor features deep roasted notes, chalk, smoke and little malt or hops. Finishes surprisingly clean and sweet. Overall, body is a bit too light, and flavor too one-sided for me.

Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota and shared by LawStudent09. Pours an opaque cola dark brown brew with a tick tan head that has a an average dissipation to a thin tan head and some spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a touch of smoked wood, chocolate and coffee. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of roasted dark malt, both chocolate and coffee with a slight citrus hop bitterness. Finish is slightly metallic with a mild tobacco and toasted dark malt that quickly disappears. A multi-personality porter.

Pours dark brown with a good sized head. Aroma is roasted malt with some chacolate. Mouthfeel is kind of thin for the style, but lively with carbonation. Falvor is mostly roasted malt with some hop bitterness in the background. Better than most of the Otter Creek brews, but nothing exceptional.
