| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2008 Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota and shared by LawStudent09. Pours an opaque cola dark brown brew with a tick tan head that has a an average dissipation to a thin tan head and some spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a touch of smoked wood, chocolate and coffee. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of roasted dark malt, both chocolate and coffee with a slight citrus hop bitterness. Finish is slightly metallic with a mild tobacco and toasted dark malt that quickly disappears. A multi-personality porter. bobaidan (365), Farmington, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2008 Pours dark brown with a good sized head. Aroma is roasted malt with some chacolate. Mouthfeel is kind of thin for the style, but lively with carbonation. Falvor is mostly roasted malt with some hop bitterness in the background. Better than most of the Otter Creek brews, but nothing exceptional. IlanMan (820), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 28, 2008 Pour is fairly dark with a short lasting tan head. Aroma is of mostly chocolate with light malt and coffee notes. Flavor is well blended with a bit more bittersweet chocolate and hop character. A little flavor is darkly roasted malt comes towards the finish. Decent brew. Could use a little more flavor overall but still decent. Maybe not worth a second buy but a first buy was not a waste of money. MrBeerFanatic (360), jamestown, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2008 Very nice dark tint. Brown head. The big thing that sticks out in the flavor was the smokiness. Tastes of roasted malts and hops in the back. The balence in taste is off. Should also be slighty sweeter. Bitter finish. Different from most porters I’v had. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 8, 2008 Bottle. Normally I give 4’s across the board for appearance, but for a porter, the depth of color on this one just left something lacking for me from the very first pour. Aroma started off nice, if one-dimensional, with deeply roasted malt. It got a touch metallic as it warmed, but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Flavor was acceptable but kind of dull, nowhere near the roasty edge that the nose had. Palate wasn’t particular thin, nor particularly sweet, but the combination of thinnish and sweetish wasn’t top-notch. All this is maybe a bit too critical since I didn’t not enjoy it, but at the end of the day, just ok. LilBeerDoctor (1508), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark black with a light mocha head that leaves pretty lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, coffee. Flavor of the same, some chocolate, some alcohol (weird, since this is only 5.4%) also a weird taste I can’t quite place. Thin, watery palate. This is ok, I guess. I wouldn’t get this again though. Haslinger (652), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 7, 2008 bottle, aroma is a little coffee with some anise. Decent taste totally black in color. Lots of roasted malt flavor, good but not great, probably would not buy again
