Commercial Description:
This is a traditional porter, made to warm the bones. Nearly black in color, Stovepipe Porter has a rich palate and a roasted, hoppy and slightly herbal aroma.

Cooper’s- Chicago. Bottle. Aroma of coffee right away. Black, with a slight hint of burgundy red. Bitter coffee taste throughout, with bittersweet chocolate. A touch heavy with the carbonation detracts slightly. Overall was pretty good, but just a shade too bitter for my taste.

A nice black color, nice roasty aroma... chocolate and stuff. Roasted malts . Smooth easy to drink and really delicious.

Part of a porter sampler six pack, Binny’s of Naperville. Poured from the bottle, dark black color with an ultra thin white head. Nose is rich roasted malts, molasses, dark chocolate, and raisins. Hints of something medicinal?? Medium bodied and creamy on the palate, but somewhat flat in terms of carbonation and rather unbalanced. Finishes slightly dry with a touch of hoppy bitterness.

Thin head, light lace. Solid black. Smells mixed of hops and malt, albeit faintly. Taste is hoppy, malty and almost fruity. Mouth feel is crisp, but not too crisp.Id agree with the person before me, this isnt what youd expect with a porter, but its still good beer. Worth a shot but only on occasion at the price.

12 oz bottle. It took a while for this massive tan, soft serve head to settle. Dark purple. Dusty grapes, coffee and cocoa. Up front hop bite, coffee, bittersweet chocolate and grapefruit peel. Tangy, persistent carb; medium light. Not what i look for in a Porter.

More like "water-heater" porter; Coffee and toffee aroma throughtout and pours a dissipating off-white head, some chocolate notes but overall a weak porter. It has talent and could be a contender of a great porter, but just no real finish in the back of the throat. Th best part is the aroma.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating tan head and black color with red tint. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate/some coffee. Taste is dark malt-charcoal/chocolate/some coffee, secondary hops bite. Right on for style, but not my taste. Occasional. OK carbonation.

Smokey smell. ALmost pitch black color with a hoppy taste that is quite agreeable with the background flavors.
