The aroma has nice roasted notes with chocolate and a touch of smoke. The flavour is light, but pleasant with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, a bit of coffee and a roasted bitterness that lasts quite long in the finish. 2352

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2007 The aroma is primarily coffee, backed by some darkly roasted malt. Opaque brown/black color with an off-white head that filmed, but laced at the edges of the film. Medium bodied; moderately carbonated. Thins as the carbonation leaves, but it touches on creamy, and the coffee will not quit. There is light sweetness accompanied by dark roasted malt, and there is enough bitter hop to balance the whole. It’s the best porter I can recall - but my organic database is hard to call up. At this moment all I can say is that it is really very good. Really. obguthr (1065), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 20, 2007 Caramel, hops, and light smoke on the nose. Clear reddish brown pour with a brown head and nice lacing. Tastes rather mediocre, but balanced with charcoal and hop notes. Average finish of smoke and hops. Enjoyable with not much of a wow factor. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Very dark brown color. Smell of coco, roasted coffee, hops, malt, caramel and some spices. Taste of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, hops, toffee, little vanilla and spice. A tad bit on the watery side also. Nate (2562), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Nice chocolate and smoke malty aroma, bit of coffee. Some smoky wood, cocoa powder. Burnt coffee stale ashtray, but nice. Light mild hops with decent bitterness to the nose. Very dark brown clear with reddish tint, with light tan slightly lacing head that dissipates quickly. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with good carbonic tang and hit of malt, though not very sweet. Kind of sour. Bitter coffee and cocoa powder, burnt wood. Finished with nice hoppy bitterness and a bit of neutral fruit, rather dry. Mild chalky after with bitter smokiness. Could use a bit more body.
