Commercial Description:
This is a traditional porter, made to warm the bones. Nearly black in color, Stovepipe Porter has a rich palate and a roasted, hoppy and slightly herbal aroma.

pours black with a one finger bubbly tan head. aroma is roasted malt, coffee, a little herb and hops. has a light to medium body with descent lacing and good carbonation. flavor is same as aroma with a small dry hop aftertaste. not bad of a porter a touch lighter on the palate compared to others but not bad. hops come out to play a little more in aroma and flavor as it warms, and has a small bite at the end.

Growler. Poured dark brown, slight creamy tan head. Smoky aroma, notes of chocolate, molasses, coffee. Rich and creamy on the tongue, with flavors of coffee and cocoa. Warming, with a nice maltiness rounded out by some hops in the finish. Great.

12 oz brown bottle with a twist off cap. Another one from that tree huggen’ beer company. Twist the lid for an aroma which is a little ashy. After that the smell is a little like the aftermath of a small campfire. Very dark brown translucent with just a tinge of reddish orange coming thru. Taste impact is complacent with some bitter back of throat burnt sensations. Carbonation is half decent low medium. Tho I don’t see any bubbles within, there is some keen tingle on the back of the tongue. Finish is burny wood back throat with an indignant immediate personality. Comes across thinly as the carbonation fades. Not too bad. Don’t stand up to Yuengling black & tan.

This is a fantastic effort of the classic porter. It pours midnight black and gives roasted notes of coffee. You get that same roasted coffee/cocoa flavor all the way to the long finish. Great dense mouthfeel.

Great aroma -- smells of toasted mocha coffee. It’s got a nice medium body that finishes with a decent bit of hops, quite refreshing for a beer that begins with such a big aroma. Very nice and balanced.

Lightish brown colar. Smelled like coffee. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but it tasted like someone had poured coffee in water and thrown a little vodka in too.

The color was a thin amber/chocolate. The head was light beige and thin. The aroma was roast, coffee, and rich malt. The flavor was roasty, malty, alcohol, and a little coffee. The palate was smooth and the finish, warm.
