Full bodied, dry taste but not overwhelmed by the alcohol. Other breweries would go heavy on the smoke, but Otter Creek does it right and let’s the subtle roasted flavor mix with hints of toffee and nuts. Reid (1092), Salem, Oregon, USA

Very good looking porter mahogany brown with a nice sized tan head..that goes fast and leaves attractive lace.
Aroma is all about roasty/toasty malts but its not strong.
A very strident taste very bitter-sweet malty, roasted almost burnt a significant hop presence also.
Ok on the palate but i felt it was a triffle over-carbonated..nice lingering after taste.
Overall a pretty nice porter, maybe a little highly hopped but OK. IPA (17), Leominster, Massachusetts, USA

A thick beverage, average carbonation, long finish. Not much of a ’burnt’ taste, probably fashioned after an English Porter, and not as roasty or smoked as expected. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2006 On tap from Flatbread Pizza-Poured a clear dark brown with a thin tan head that is frothy and thick. The nose is sweet dark chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts, and a slight hint of vanilla sweetness. The taste mirrors the nose it starts with a sweet dark chocolate presence balanced by a hint of sharp hop bitterness and finishes sour on palate. I paired this beer with a Flatbread pizza topped with caramalized onion and mushrooms the beer really paired well with the sweetness in the onions and sauce. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2006 "Roasted" is the key word for this porter, in aroma, flavor, and palate. Deep brown with a slender tan head, roasted malts cover an underlying sweet aroma. Smooth to drink, the roast continues along with a touch of woody smokiness. Lightly bitter finish. Nice.

Nice malty/hoppy aroma with roasted cereals and plummy notes. Very well balanced malty taste that ends with a pretty decent roasty finish. Good average porter.
