Commercial Description:
This is a traditional porter, made to warm the bones. Nearly black in color, Stovepipe Porter has a rich palate and a roasted, hoppy and slightly herbal aroma.

Dark ruby color. Has a bit of a strange aroma, not sure what it is. Something mixed in with the roasted malts/coffee aromas. Taste is more of the same. A little bit thin and weak on the flavors for a porter. Not too bad though.

The Stovepipe pours a dark black color with a small, fizzy head. Aroma is of burnt malts, as well as caramel, coal, chocolate, and coffee. Initial taste is lightly sweet, finishing bitter. Light to medium on the palate with a watery/oily consistency. Soft carbonation. Wood doesn’t really care about this one.

Pours a very dark reddish-brown, quickly faiding tan head and good lacing. Aromas of roasted malts and some chocolate. Flavor is very dark chocolatey and malty but with an uncomfortably carbonated bitter finish. Light bodied - nice attempt, but no favorite here.

This was a little too overcarbonated, and had some acidic roastiness that I found to be quite annoying. Nice flavors though, the chocolate flavor here really compliments the palate, but the body is way too light, and somewhat unbalanced. Drinkable, but not a favorite.

Interesting how quickly the head fades, even with decent carbonation. Yes my glass was clean... Aroma of roasted barley...seems a little thin but that can be ok too...Easy session porter best served at 60 degrees or more... good with a burger. I would buy again but not my favorite

Very little head on this porter. Extremely light body, which I don’t really like in a porter. Still has a fairly diverse combination of flavors, however nothing really sticks out to me. Dark chocolate flavor with a roasty finish. Not one of the best porters, but not a bad one either. Very drinkable.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor of malt, cocoa, and vinous.

Although the body is light (and I prefer a porter to be heavier) the flavor is fantastic with the traditional roasted notes and an undertone that I can’t quite identify, but is delicious nonetheless. Well balanced and extremely drinkable, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its complexity and richness as well.
