Commercial Description:
This is a traditional porter, made to warm the bones. Nearly black in color, Stovepipe Porter has a rich palate and a roasted, hoppy and slightly herbal aroma.

Rich, complex aroma. Very warm flavour, which develops into a sort of dry, woody aftertaste which is quite pleasant. Besides that, not much else going for it. A little bit on the flat side. For my tastes, not bitter enough, not strong enough. Tastes thin. Tastes like other brews to come out of otter creek, but...not one of their better ones. A weaker beer and a disappointment.

Un assé bon porter, riche, bon goût roti et d’épice. Dégusté à la Mondial de la Bière en 2005.

One bottle from BOTW. Very dark brew with a think head. Hops in aroma. Roasted chocolate body with alittle too much hops for a porter. Slightly bitter ending.

Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of chocolate and cookies. Taste is sweet with hints of spice and a peppery finish.

Bottle. A near opaque dark cola red color. White lasting head, with a nose of carmel and coffee tones. Rich malty flavor with a well balance of hops that completes in a semi-dry finish of bitter hops and crystal malted hops

Porter opaque with minimal white head. Nose is malt roastiness, grassy mustiness, and a light hop effervescance. Palate is slightly cloying and medium-bodied. Flavor is coffee roast that gives way to an earthy, peaty tone that is rounded out by hops that are lasting and bitter. Good complexity for a porter and has a nice interplay of malt/smoke/hops that attests to solid craft brewing.

Lots of roasted malt , with a fine balance of hops. Has a brown sugar sweetness. This is now one of my favorites, a medium bodied porter.

bottled, impressively malty aroma w/ a hint of floral tone followed by a hoppy (for a porter) taste.
