Commercial Description:
This is a traditional porter, made to warm the bones. Nearly black in color, Stovepipe Porter has a rich palate and a roasted, hoppy and slightly herbal aroma.

12 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a creamy light tan head. Very pleasant caramel and coffee flavors.

This isn’t too bad, a bit too much of a dry, bitter burnt flavor for my liking.

pours a deep dark brown w/ a small tan head well laced. Big roasty aroma lots of malt and a dark coffee, lighly vanilla. Palate is light fairly well coatd. Flavor is just a bit of vanilla lots of dark malt, not much else. an ok porter.

Sampled on tap. The appearance is a thin, fully lasting white head with so-so lacing. The color is a realy dark yet still translucent red body. The aroma is a chocolatey roasted malt with something strange in it. (herbs?). The flavor is much of the same and is kinda weird and herbal.

I think this has been a little under-rated here- it is a well made porter- a little mild, but is chocolaty, hoppy and dry. The color is a little light, but I think well within the style- and for the rest, porter is a rather flexible style anyway. Recommended session porter.

Bottle shared with GregClow, tupalev & jerc -- courtesy of GregClow. Pours a dark brown with a small off-white head. A mild coffee and light hops aroma. Flavour is surprisingly hoppy for a porter. Some bitterness from roast malts and hops. I really liked this.

Bottle from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo - thanks to rudolf. Shared with blankboy, tupalev & jerc. Ruby-brown colour. Aroma of fresh coffee & smoky hops. Well balanced roasty flavour, with a dry, moderately bitter finish. A simple but well-made porter.

Really dig the label and name on the bottle. Dark brown pour, creamy tan head. Slight smokiness and coffee in aroma. Nice coffee/porter roasted taste. Short finish. Nothing really outstanding just a solid quaffable porter. This is what Sleeman’s Fine Porter at Christmas was trying to accomplish but failed miserable at.
