Bottle. Dark with an off white head. Aroma has a light roast bitterness with some coffee. Taste is light but balanced and drinkable. Roasted grains with some bitter coffee. Pretty good.

Thick, light beige head. Recedes rockily and leaves good ring lace. Color is deep ruby brown where the barest of light passes. Good aroma, but mild. Some burnt malts give it a touch of coffee. There’s also a sense of cream. This is nearly a transition porter; it has many of the qualities of a good stout--lots of burnt grain (black patent), particularly in the aftertaste. Yet, the body is closer to the porter (i.e. not as thick). No creamy flavors, this is almost all bitter, over done toast. If you like bitter stouts, you’ll likely like this one.

22oz bottle as part of the "World Tour Pack". Pours with a slightly lighter shade of dark brown than their Dubbel. Fading off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, leather, roast, bread and grains. Taste is coffee and ash tray. Medium to high carbonation with a dryish mouthfeel.

12 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with some nice ruby highlights and a huge, creamy, light tan head. Great aroma with roasted malt, coffee, caramel, and a light herbal note. Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. Coffee, a little caramel, earth, mineral notes, and a light sourness on the palate. Short finish with only a light coffee note that lingers. Overall a very satisfying brew!

Bottle from Brattleboro Food Co-Op. Dark brown body with large, tan head. Nose of caramel and hops. Taste quite weak with chocolate and malts towards the end. Watery with oily finish. Okay.

Began with a very pleasing aroma of coffee and a deep, dark appearance. Unfortunately, the flavor and palate do not live up to its’ first impressions.

Pours brown with red highlights and a small tan head. Nose of pleasant coffee, chocolate milk, breadcrust, nuts, oven char. Tastes of dark chocolate, roasted almonds, peanuts, toast, and coffee with mild astringency. Finishes nutty, lightly burned, coffee, with a mild bittrerness. Light to medium bodied with highcarbonation and a fairly creamy mouthfeel. Decent beer.
