This is a traditional porter, made to warm the bones. Nearly black in color, Stovepipe Porter has a rich palate and a roasted, hoppy and slightly herbal aroma.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Dark brown/black with ring head. Roasted chocolate, earth and wood aroma. Nicely roasted choclate and coffee with dark fruit and mild-medium lingering bitterness. Medium-light body and medium carbo. Pretty good. Needs to warm up a bit. I think my little beer fridge is getting too cold.

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: Black with light hint of brown, lighter, creamy top. 3-
Nose: Good blend of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and hops. Faint clue of alcohol.
Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied , oily textured with dry ash , roastiness in mid end. A bit finishing tartness, hint o smoke, roasted barley. Good fairly complex, interesting brew.

The aroma is chocolaty with coffee and toasted malt. The appearance is brown with a medium head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall a decent beer but the finish is a little astringent.

[Bottle] shared by lawstudent09. Pours a deep brown with a small whitish head. Aroma is bittersweet chocolate and roasted malt. Thin mouthfeel, bittersweet, lots of roasty character.

Pretty good. I am not a porter fan, but this was more drinkable than usual. Not as sweet as I was expecting, some hop and bitterness to it. Not as full bodied or creamy as it could have been. Heavy coffee flavor and aroma.
