stefanberggren (135), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Feb 8, 2006 Interesting how quickly the head fades, even with decent carbonation. Yes my glass was clean... Aroma of roasted barley...seems a little thin but that can be ok too...Easy session porter best served at 60 degrees or more... good with a burger. I would buy again but not my favorite
mar (598), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 10, 2008 bottle thanks to daknole. black pour with a thin cream. deep roasted notes with chocolate. a little thin on the palate and a flavor full of roasted malts. wcampbell (437), Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2008 Pretty good. I am not a porter fan, but this was more drinkable than usual. Not as sweet as I was expecting, some hop and bitterness to it. Not as full bodied or creamy as it could have been. Heavy coffee flavor and aroma. stefanje (594), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Sep 18, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of daknole(thanks). Pours an opaque black color with a medium khaki head. The aroma was light with roasted malts and chocolate milk duds. The flavor, unlike the aroma, was bold with smoked malts, ash, burnt toast, coffee and biter dark chocolate. The mouthfeel was just a bit thin, the carbonation was lively, and there was a bit of acidity. The finish was short in duration with biter walnuts. Overall: A very enjoyable porter. MrManning (1448), London, Ontario, Canada Sep 15, 2008 Updated: Sep 16, 2008Bottle from JJPM74!- Deep charcoal pour with a frothy mocha head that sits atop. Nice lace and head retention. Roasty nose has vanilla and wood smoke, with caramel and nuts, coffee and toasty bread crust. Tasted milky and sweet with a nice marked roasted, smoke bitterness. A bit of vanilla and caramel sweetness with coffee bean and dark chocolate bitterness create the flavour profile. Creamy and smooth, well balanced. Thanks John! BigMilly8 (373), Holiday, Florida, USA Sep 13, 2008 From bottle : Pours a dark brown color, with a healthy finger of white foamy head, and some decent lacing. A very pleasing aroma to my nose, roasted malts like nobodys biz, and some coffee as well. Taste has a little hop presents, but mainly back to the roasted malt theme. Finishs with some serious coffee notes, and a nice sweetness. Nice palate, and a medium to light body. Pretty nice porter except for the body, needs to be a little thicker.
