ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Sep 4, 2009 12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Hop City in Atlanta, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a clear, deep hued golden body with a foamy, lasting, white head.
Smell: Simple, sweetish malted barley with some spicy, lemony hops. There’s a caustic, pungent note present that, like a crusty scab, I can’t help but pick at. It’s kind of vomitesque. I asked for the Vermont Lager, not the Vomit Lager. Good grief.
Taste: Light pale maltiness with a minimal amount of sweetness. Hints of lemon and spice from the hops as well as a modest amount of bitterness. Curious acidity and some unpleasant off-tastes plow through the taste and lasts into the "where’s my glass of water" finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Gack! Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Aug 2, 2009 Pours gold with a white head. Smells of sweet malt and perfumy. Taste yields some sweet malt, some fruity hints and a crisp, grassy finish. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA May 28, 2009 Pale golden beer with a thin white head. Aroma is light. Just a touch of soft pale malt. Fairly clean, but terribly underhopped. Sort of a non-descript pale lager... nothing really worth mentioning here. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Mar 13, 2009 Tasted at 4th annual St. Bridget’s beer fest. Light grain aroma with hints of hops. Clear dark golden color with a small white head. Mild sweet beginning with a hop taste finish and not much bitterness. Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Feb 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden pale body with a rocky white head. Sweet malty body, grassy hoppiness with a light lemon and metallic flavor. Not so good. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 17, 2009 slighty hazy gold under a fluffy white head. nice crisp lemony hoppy aroma. the lemony hops carry through into the flavor. light, crisp, refreshing. everything a good lager should be. very impressed! halfonit (423), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Aug 16, 2008 It has a faint hoppy smell to it and your average golden color.
Has a little hoppyness in the flavor but also a bitterness to go with it.
After taste leaves a bitter, almost like a lead flavor, in the mouth.
Overall it’s not a bad beer but I don’t think that I’ll end up buying this one again. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Jul 21, 2008 From bottle. Disappointing offering. Watery, uninteresting, slightly sour. No finish. Not one to repeat.
