Tap at the brewpub. Interesting beer was not the flavor i was expecting. Did hide the alcohol pretty well.

On tap at Ottos: Pours a transparent deep bronze golden with a thin-lacing wispy white head. Aroma of earthy hops and sweet grainy caramel malt with some biscuity doughy Belgian yeastiness. Starts with good fullness and sweet toasty pale malt with some yeasty esters and light fruity character. Finishes drier and slightly warming with light apple tartness and peppery clove notes. A pretty interesting brew.

Draft at Otto’s. Pours a orange golden body with a white head. Apple skins, dusty fruit. Mildly sweet and dry with a sticky apple feel, had a dry astringent flavor.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours gold with thin white head. The aroma is light and fruity--banana, apple, pear, even a hint of apricot--and a good dose of yeast. The flavor is banana and yeast. There is a little bit of a dry apple note in there, but not much. Overall the flavor is dominated by the yeast, which is ok, because I like yeasty tripels. The finish is dried fruit and crackers. Decent.

Hand bottle courtesy of Nate. Pours yellow/orange with foamy/filmy white head. Nose is honey and flowery with mild jasmine and lavender, also a few bright citrus notes. Spicy notes from the yeast lead into a biscuit-esque flavor that’s overtaken by apple that is accentuated by the fruity esters from the yeast, slight cherry and pear. Finish is dry and rather bitter, with some apple notes sticking to the walls of the mouth. A slight cotton candy taste in the finish. Moderate watery body with medium carb. Nice palate. Slight alcohol warmth and flavor. I’m a fan.

From Growler. Pours a clear golden effervescent color with a small fizzy white head that is gone after a few seconds. The nose is a flowery perfume honey yeast with some citrusy sour notes. The flavor has a spicy yeast flavor, honey, pils, apple skin, and a lot of alcohol. The apple is not too sweet... it just blends nicely with the rest of the flavors. Has a pretty rich body with a very tight carbonation, even though it has been in a growler overnight. A nice brew.

From growler courtesy of dpjuart. Very nice aroma, alternating between a classic honey-teaberry-yeasty tripel profile to some sweet clear apple juice smell. Light spicy notes with pilsner malt and golden honey sweetness. Mild alcohol notes, too. Fruity and light. Golden yellow-amber clear with light haze, topped by white thin foamy lacing head. Medium to heavy body, silky, with medium carbonation. Starts nice and sweet with lots of sugar and honey, teaberry, mild bitter citrus and a fruity yeast flavor. Notes of apple juice, too. Finish is lightly bittered, with some watery sour apple notes, mild alcohol warming, and a bit of chalky yeast characer. After is dry chalky apple. This is a really nice tripel.
