CharlesDarwin (1376), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2008 On Cask at Zeno’s Pub - State College. Pours an incredibly clouded orangey tan. Weird color. Rim in off-white. Nice fresh hoppy aroma, crisp and juicy. Glowing. Flavor is of a very fresh hop flavored lightly sweet beer. Good fresh flavors. This tastes like fresh home brew to be honest. Lots of fresh, juicy hop aroma in an English/US hop cone liquor. A bit grassy, a bit citrusy. Malt is very laid down. A snappy faint edge of carbonation brightens the back end. Incredibly drinkable. British esters bounce around the finish, making it more complex. This is a very enjoyable bitter.
CaptainCougar (4624), Rockville, Maryland, USA Aug 19, 2007 On cask at the brewpub on 4/9/07: Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin ring of off-white bubbles. Aroma of lightly sweet and toasty pale malt with a touch of fruity esters. Body starts fairly well balanced and malty sweet with some earthy notes and floral English hops. A decent ESB. cbrixius (134), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 15, 2007 Hand pump draft at the brewery. Very enjoyable bitter which appeared to exhibit the typical mild english bitter style. Very mild, little carbonation, fruity nose. Not a bad choice. acrdz (4248), Pennsylvania, USA Feb 9, 2007 Could be listed as an IPA, with the amount of hops this thing contains. Murky soft orange/brown colored body, nose is sweet and lightly grassy hops, with a nice lemon and grapefruit hop scent. Flavor and palate are spot-on for an IPA, in fact it reminds me somewhat of HOTD Blue Dot batch 1. Lightly coarse on the tongue, biting and sharp, fresh and lively. A wonderful beer. jason (1483), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA May 24, 2006 Hand pump draft.
Decent aroma escapes the nose.
Appearance is decent, dark amber look with thin head.
Flavor is very well balanced with a good selection of bitterness attacking the palate. This is very enjoyable and one that could almost put me at peace. Will defeniately have again.
Cheers!
