EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Aug 19, 2009 Draught at Otto’s. Looks exactly like the coffee stout. Nose is tangy/acidic, sort of like a pale lager made in Ireland would. Light body, creamy taste, essentially the coffee stout without the coffee addition (which reveals to us the real winner in that other, great brew). A very nice Irish Stout full of gentle, creamy goodness, but needs more carbonation and more bite. BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2009 Brewed in the USA.... On that at the Brewery !! Pours black in color with a monster beige head that really last. Aroma of smoke, roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is much of the same with some mild tobacco flavors. Mouthfeel is smooth at first but then becomes kind of chalky at the finish. Beerapprentice (111), Hopatcong, New Jersey, USA May 23, 2009 Pours a dark almost black colour with mahogany red tint and creamy beige head that lingers on top of the beer. Aroma of roasted malts, and baking chocolate. Dry tasting stout with malty flavour. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Mar 1, 2009 Had at Otto’s. Pours pitch black with a big brown head. Aroma is good. Chocloate, coffee and caramel. Nice flavor too and easy to drink. Medium bodied...decent brew. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Nov 29, 2008 Poured with a nice black body and cascading separation of the N2 bubbles, love that look in these dry stouts. Lacing was perfect, continuos coating of the glass walls with ring emphasis after each sip. The aroma was ashy chocolate. The flavor was smokey ash, chocolate, tobacco, chocolate dry finish. Solid mouthfeel. Nice one, Ottos! illinismitty (1790), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Sep 4, 2008 Draft at Otto’s with Kmweaver. Pours deep brown/black with an extremely retentive light brown head. Faint aroma of dark roast. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Flavor is plummy with dark roast and a balancing bitterness. Very Guinness like, but with more body, but less bitterness and dryness. Decent. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Sep 4, 2008 Nitro @ Otto’s. Pours a very dark, chocolate-black color; significant, creamy light-tan head with perfect retention and lacing that coats the glass; great pour. Solid amounts of dark chocolate, roasted malts, and basic toastiness in the aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: relaxed carbonation; roasted malts and plenty of bitter chocolate; very drinkable, creamy, excellent stout. Medium finish: bitter chocolate, roasted malts, and some dry, crackery / toasty malts. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 30, 2008 Enjoyed on nitro-tap at the brewpub. Aroma of roast and licorice. Black with a thick creamy head. The taste is nitro malt, rast, and lots of burnt charred roast. Thick lacing. Creamy mouthfeel, there is sourness well offset by the malting. It’s drinkable.
