On tap at the brewpub on 4/9/07: Pours an opaque black with dark brown edges and a large, frothy nitro, dark tan head. Has a nice lightly chocolatey and roasted malty aroma. Body starts lightly earthy and sweet with some dark chocolate notes drying out toward the roasty finish. A decent dry stout.

Draught at the brewery. Has a proper dry stout appearance, with a deep black body and a really nice looking creamy tan colored head. Creamy soft texture, up front, then some dry malts are more prominent, then the light toasted bitter hops show up. Finish has some nice dark chocolate flavors, with a resemblance to ice cream even, like cookies and cream ice cream, actually. Overall this is a very nice dry stout, one of the best examples of the style I’ve had in years. Creamy and rich all around, and full of flavor... delicious.

Pours very black, with a great off-white nitrogenated head. Aroma of coffee, malt, and chocolate. Tastes very malty, with a slightly dry, crisp finish. This one beats Guinness in my mind.

Enjoyed on nitro-tap at the brewpub. Aroma of roast and licorice. Black with a thick creamy head. The taste is nitro malt, rast, and lots of burnt charred roast. Thick lacing. Creamy mouthfeel, there is sourness well offset by the malting. It’s drinkable.

Poured a black color with a tan, creamy, head and nice lacing on the glass. Sudsy, milk chocolate aroma. Bitter roasted coffee taste. Finished metallic and tinny, overall a rather weak mouthfeel.

Pour is a light black with a nice light brown head and good retention. Roasted coffee, chocolate, light licorice hints, and some other dark roasted malts. Light flavor overall, but some decent coffee, roasted grains, chocolate and light caramel hints. Body is a little on the weak side, but the finish is pretty smooth.

A dry Irish stout indistinguishable from Guinness. Nicely done. Unremarkable.

A light smoky/roasted nose and a bit of a tang. Dark brown-black with beautiful light-brown creamy head that was still there when I finished. Smooth carb, medium-heavy silky body. Hints of smoke, malted chocolate, and coffee bitterness. Light sour finish. Starts a bit sweet with dry mellow after. Not hugely complex but a very nice dry stout.
