Commercial Description:
Jolly Roger himself has blessed this big stout. This is a massive stout aged in Heaven Hill Distillery bourbon barrels which give strong bourbon flavors to our Imperial stout. Served through the handpump at correct cellar temperature.

On cask at Otto’s. So glad I got to try this while available. Great aroma on this one - oak, vanilla, dark chocolate, molasses and a bit of smoke. A little boozy with smooth alcohol vapors. Smooth and luscious. Dark brown-black with thin head. Oily body with light cask carbonation. Starts sweet and viscous with tons of chocolate and molasses and a little Twizzlers. Oak and vanilla, dry woody bitter character and sweet but not cloying malt body. All the best of the Jolly Roger but with more barrel goodness. Light bourbon after taste - smooth and silky. This stuff is terrific.

Shared by ygtbsm94 at Flossmoor. Flat body. The nose was nice, plenty of alcohol--but balanced by vanilla and roasted malt aromas. The mouthfeel is full. The taste follows the aroma with added tastes of chocolate. Thanks Brad!

Growler shared by Brad. Delicious and lightly carbonated. The bourbon played second fiddle here to a plummy, nutty, and cocoa-rich flavor, with a lightly hot, vanilla-bean aroma up front. Very full-bodied but not overwhelming, a BA IS very well done.

Many, many thanks to Brad for scoring this growler!! Poured very deep brown with heavy bourbon and vanilla over rich dark chocolate and coffee.. touches of oak and smoke around.. absolutely decadent! The flavor found rich, roasted darker chocolates and coffee at the core with ample doses of vanilla and bourbon sugars around.. spicy on the back-end (some from oak and some from bourbon), picking up more smoke.. fine warmth through the long finish. Low carbonation on the palate with a creamy, thick feel to it.. spicy, warm, and expertly balanced. Wow!

HUGE THANKS TO BRAD FOR THIS, he thought it hadnt held up great ... and it had lost carbonation ... but too many US beers are over fizzy ... so it wasnt suffering ... deep black ... roast malts ... loads of bourbon in nose .... sweet vanilla ... loads of roast malts ... some toffee .... rich smooth ... light tartness in linger ... bourbon well balanced 4.3

# 1200 !! On cask at my favorite brewpub. Pours a dark cola with a creamy and thick brown head. Aroma of warm bourbon, milky chocolate and roasted malts. Taste of warm bourbon, milk chocolate, roasted malts and cream. Warms the nose and clears out the sinuses. SUPERB !!!
