Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 3, 2005 Draught at Otto’s. 5.2% abv. Has a mild tart cherry aroma. Some astringency and woody character, but otherwise pretty meek. Medium red-brown body, hazy, with thin off-white, almost light tan lacing head. Medium body with medium soft carbonation and some chalkiness. Starts with mild fruity astringency, cherry skin notes, and yeasty bitterness. Has watery chalky sourness throughout, but not harsh. Finish is mild bitter with light tart fruitiness. After is chalky and medium bitter. Decent Flemish sour ale, but not nearly as sour as I’d like. egajdzis (3602), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 12, 2004 Updated: Sep 13, 2004Poured a dark red and slightly plummish color with a nice, light tan, medium sized head, that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of brett, tart cherry, and lots of barnyard. The taste was crisp and refreshing. Lots of tart cherry and brett, some lemon peel, and finished dry and earthy. If this was just a little more tart, it would be the best Flemish Sour I have ever had!
