Commercial Description:
Jolly Roger himself smoked the malt for this Imperial Stout. This is a massive stout with a huge roasted maltiness and complex smoky, chocolate flavors coming through strong thanks to the gentle handpump and correct cellar temperature.

Another thanks goes out to the STL crew for this one. Pours dark brown with a patchy tan head. The aroma has lots of dark, but creamy, chocolate, dark toffee, breadiness and some abv. Medium / thick body with some crispness on the finish considering the style and some semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with roasted malt, light chocolate, sharpness and some vanilla. The finish has some alcoholic soy taste. A decent impy stout.

This Imperial Stout pours a deep black color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate and coffee. The hops are earthy and floral. It has all those other flavors in here as well. some leather, smoke, some vanilla, and perhaps some soy. Nicely balanced Imperial Stout. Mouthfeel is soft and round, very nice. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle from Capones, sampled with Stegosaurus. Black pour with thin tan head. Aromas of roasted malt and dark fruit. The flavor was a cream, chocolate, coffee roast all blended extremely well with a mild bitter finish. The cerimonial humping opf the bottle was done. This was fantastic. Merry Christmas Stegosaurus !!!

Bottle shared with jerc & mabel - their bottle. Inky black body with a small mocha head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, coffee, smoke and hops. Medium body. Flavour is quite good, following the aroma pretty much exactly - roasted malt, coffee, smoke and hops. A very drinkable impy.

Bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, jerc, mabel & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. O.K., 17th beer of the night and the last one for this tasting so my notes are getting a little scratchier and sparse. Here goes: Pours, well, perfect and that doesn’t happen often: Black with a lasting creamy light-brown head. Boy oh boy, it looks good. Aroma’s lightly roasty along with caramel malt, hops and some chocolate. Nice, lightly roasted malty flavour with a good amount of hops, a bit of alcohol and some cocoa. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Very good stuff, I’d love to have it again but as the first beer of the night. Great tasting guys (and gal)!

bottle from mj. thanks mike. and fuck you rtd for leaving me stranded 3 miles from my house. that was a fun walk you piece of shit, fuck i hate the bus system here sometimes. o.k. so i was in a foul mood ready to rip something, full of anger, but no, doesn’t happen, i have to go into how damn good something is i have to have a fantastic beer that i really like, so i guess that is a good thing. this is a nice looking brew, pitch black with a thick light brown head. boozey chocolate nose with a nice fudge and vanilla underneath it. flavor is mainly chocolate there is a light cappucino note there too. an enjoyable near powdery like mouthfeel. the sweet malt flavors are well balanced with the alcohol dryness & bitterness of hops. the fruitiness is a bit strong , a good orange citrus is there too & i like the way it works into the light hints of smoke. this is a high alcohol porter, & i love porters. 5 7 8 3 18

Thanks to kmweaver for the bottles. Deep, dark black with a small beige head ringing the glass. Aroma of chocolate, smoke, roasted malt and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is smokey with bitter chocolate and dark fruit. Decent mouthfeel, but just a little thin.

Bottle shared with Fly, Dewbrewer, Humulone_Red and others. Thanks guys!
Last beer of a long list of beers. Definitely would like to re-rate this beer. Black pour with a light tan head. Sweet rich dark malt smell and a touch of alcohol. A touch thin and and flavors of dark sweet roast flavor. Either not as good as I expected or my taste buds were shot at this point. Deserving of a re-rate.
