Commercial Description:
Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Yes yes, this is more like it! Dirty gold with vertical columns of aggressive bubbles and a white collar that lasts all the way down. Aroma is a bombshell of grapefruit, lemon, sulphur and seawater that sends the nostrils into overload. Taste sends your palate all ways. Grapefruit winey sherbet seaweed lovebomb. Long and sour with stabs of wild woody yeast. Woof Woof....

Golden with lots of floaties. Very sour aroma that bitch slapped my nose as soon as I popped the cork. The flavor is full of acid and citrus. Sour as pure lemon essence, whatever the hell that means. Sometimes a sour ale or Gueuze has a soapy quality to the finish, but this one finishes clean....or maybe it doesn’t, depending on how far you want me to carry the soapy metaphor. I don’t know. Leave me alone. Hell of an amazing sour lambic. I could drink sours for the rest of my life with no other fluid availble and be a happy, happy man.

Light citrus and yeasty aroma. Huge, frothy, white head. Good lacing. Mostly lasting longevity. Cloudy, orange body. Heavy bitter and acetic initial flavor. Light to medium palate, with a lively carbonation.

Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks!
Pours the color of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice with a light filmy head. Smell is funky barnyard sourness. Taste is mild, bland, faintly sweet and a hint of funky sourness. Pretty mild overall with a light lingering funky flavor.

Bottle. Acidic citrus nose, very clean funk. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Great balanced sourness, very mild, with a good amount of lemon. Fantastic palate, very dry.

Pours a hazy straw color with big white head. Aroma is fruity and sour, very funky. Flavors are weird. This is the first gueuze I have tried. Flavors of oak and sourness with a dry finish. Some musty notes. Medium body with soft carbonation and a velvety mouthfeel. The more I drink, the more I can appreciate the style. I look foward to tying more of this style.
