Commercial Description:
Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Courtesy of Diane and CJ (thanks guys!). I admit right out front that I’m not a big fan of gueuze. But I found this quite drinkable, which says something. Obviously it was starkly sour, fairly heavily sedimented with an orange body. (#3359, 3/28/2008)

Typically sour gueuze aroma. Hazy golden color with a decent white head. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. Starts lacticly sour. Has funk and socks. Bit of grapefruit fibre. However, it is all very mild and relatively smooth. Not at all shocking.

A hazy amberish body with a great white head. Notes of sour grapefruits and sour eructations. The nose is fruity with hints of butter, hay and stables!!

Bottle. Unclear golden colour with a nice white head. Aroma of sourness and little acidity. Mild flavour of sourness, but someway quite nice and refreshing.

cloudy pale gold with small frothy head. lemony, wet wood and hay aroma. medium light body. tart citric flavor with a spicy, moldy wood note, reminds me of bleu cheese. nice and funky, good for introducing someone to a geuze, its a good example but not too strong.

Thanks TheCheeseMan! Pours a cloudy yellow color with a large pillowy white head. Aroma is wonderful funk, horseblanket, and sourness. Taste is smooth, tart, and funky.

Pours a hazy orange with a white head. The nose is largely vinous with hints of light dried fruits. The flavor is sour, but not unpleasantly so, with hints of vinegar.
