Commercial Description:
Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Bottle, 6%. Good sour aroma with a hint of mold. Hazy copper colour. Big stable white head. Good sourness in the flavour, lemony and sharp. Quite clean flavour with a hint of fruity sweetness. Ends on a very dry note, reminding me of aspartam. Slightly high carbonation.

Hazy orange and bubbly. Stable beige head. Classic gueuze aroma, cheese, feet, barnyard, almost manure in this one, all in a good way of course. Sour, very refreshing. A little lighter than some other gueuzes, and I think a little bit on the fizzy side. All in all, another classic, very good. Only slight dropoff from Girardin Black Label (and probably better for the price).

375mL bottle, BB Jan 16, 2005. Poured a clear medium golden with a whole bunch of rising carbonation and a short creamy white head. Aroma was quite fragrant with lemon, vinegar, and dusty old barn lofts... touches of grainy older oak and sliced green apples too.

Mellow lemon and vinegar at the tip of the tongue build nicely into a sour (but not too much so) middle... dusty lemon and funky light fruit-based yeast fill out the flavor.. short-to-medium lenghth moderately sour finish.. dry and uber refreshing. Wonderful drink!

Bottled at the Belgian Embassy in Oslo. (37,5cl corked bottle, served by the brewer.) It pours almost clear, with the expected excuse for a white head. It has a dryish aroma with apples, sourness and barnyard. The flavor is very nice, with apples, sourness and notes of barnyard. Astringent, medium mouthfeel and a long sour finish. A lovely brew, well suited to make a break in an else sweet-flavored evening (070103)

ottled. Hazy golden in colour. Minor white head. The aroma is fruity and sour. You get hints of strawbery! and rubarb! The flavour is dry and fruity... just like a cider... Apples, strawberries and rubarbs... Mmm... a dry aftertaste as well.

375ml bottle. Sour aroma, with oak, mahagony, lemon, black pepper, nuts, bacon. Outstanding complexity. Very nice pour for a lambic, with a tight foamy head that sticks around. Flavor is gentle sourness, kind of akin to a flemish sour or oud bruin but a bit more acidic. Oak and cherry shine here, with a touch of black pepper. Good palate, very drinkable, just a tad thin up front. Very nice gueuze, with a very soft body that is much different from their kriek, which I found to be intensely minerally.

12.7oz bottle. Poured a medium and hazy golden color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of barnyard, leather, sour fruits and yeast. Tastes of green apples, tart cherries, and all around brett. Nice pucker factor.

Bottled. Hazy golden colour, mediumsized white head. Sour fruits and yeast. Acidic footsweat along with sour fruits and acidicness. Flavour is quite the same, and is a very superdry thing. Some slight metallicness showing also, yet it is very wellbalanced. Hardcore thing.
