Aroma is of strong yeast, citrus, farmyard and sour notes. Taste is mostly tart and sour. Crisp and zestfully carbonated with a watery texture. Ends quick with a light citrus and sweet malt aftertaste. Interesting and unique old world style beer. biggcb (464), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a cloudy golden/brownish color, with a fairly massive head. Sour aroma, with a little fruitiness. Flavor was sour, but in a relatively subtle & enjoyable way. Very crisp, clean and refreshing! Very tasty. I look forward to other geuzes. Jerre (1768), Waregem, Belgium

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 25, 2006 Massive white and foamy head covers a dingy, cloudy, brownish straw-colored body. Lots of suspended stuff swimming around, some of it quite large and it really does look like it’s swimming as the effervescence tosses it about. Aromas are of sour apple and wood, although the sourness is definitely the most prominent. Flavor is very sharp and sour, especially at first. Sour apples are definitely the most dominant flavor here, but there are some citrus flavors and a bit of a grassy quality, too. Really interesting, but not for everyone. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 20, 2006 I really loved this gueze. The appearance was light golden brown. It had a crisp white head on it. The aroma was wonderful, a great blend of wood, light fruits (apples and grapes) and a some sourness as well. Tastes of light oak and sour apples dominate the flavor. Not a monster pucker job, but a very well balanced beer. Great mouthfeel with a perfect amount of carbonation. Glouglouburp (2887), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2006 Updated: Jan 19, 2008In short: A sharp acidic gueuze. Not funky enough for the genre. Good beer by itself a few notches below the classic gueuzes.
How: 375ml bottle. Re-rate for this 2007 bottle. Previous batches were better.
The look: Cloudy yellow with a short-lived white head.
In long: Acidic smell that tickles the nose and gives it a spicy feeling. Light barnyard aroma, a lot less funky than the classic 3F/Cantillon/Girardin. This 2007 batch is dry, acidic and a bit too fruity for the genre. Mouth-drying spiciness and acidity but without the funky taste. Dry hay, bananas, white pepper and a little plastic. A good beer by itself but I’ll stick to the 3F/Cantillon/Girardin unless there is a Beersel beer sale.
