Citrus dominates the flavor at first, with notes of stone, smoke and dust creeping in. Insanely drinkable. As it warms, more hints of smoke pop up. Really enjoyable. Light blond lambic with a creamy white head. Aroma of sour cream and chesse and horseblanket. Puckering sour lambic with aging cave dust and light sour cherries. Rich mix of sour and fruity notes, earthborne flavours from the cave. Excellent. And a steal at 3 euros in a bar. May 1, 2005. guzzler67 (1288), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 11, 2005 Cloudy, blood orange appearance with some flocculation. Earthy, yeasty, acidic aroma, blending green apples, grapes, leather and mustiness. Complex, shifting taste: tart, sour, grapefruit, bleu cheese just for starters. Reminiscent of a sparkling white wine. Very dry finish. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2005 Wispy head, poetic lacing on a pellucid zinc body. The nose is wet and woodsy with ripe cheese and light barnyard. The flavor is musty like damp plank and tart with fluid citric notes. Not overly complex yet finishes in a tobacco and tart fruit tail. Good but not quite world class. Mungo (2473), Southampton, Hampshire, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 18, 2005 Bottle (from Bitter virtue, BBE 2023). Restrained aromas of musty cellars and cheese with gentler citrusy apple notes and an out of place thin lagery malt which quickly fades. Very gentle tartness which produces an easy going balance. Perhaps lacks the full complexities of some lambics or the more aggresive power but ends up as a great beer to drink rather than be broodily introspective over. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2005 Huge off-white head of fine bubbles. Dense and creamy on top. Wonderful carbonation. Fruity aroma with sour apples, lemon, oak and maybe a hint of raspberry. Color is a dark apple cider. Sharp and sour flavor. But not a sourness that makes you pucker but the kind of sour that makes your mouth salivate non-stop. More apples, white grape, straw and a bit of lemon. Quite complex. Finish is slightly dry and leaves a long sourness in the mouth. Some pretty damn good stuff. Bov (5514), Bienne, Switzerland
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 2, 2005 pours a cloudy copper colour with a nice firm creamy head and a nice lace; powerful and complex aroma of vinegar, grapefruit, hay and acidic cream; notes of cork; solid malt body, very intense sourness; long and dry aftertaste of green apples and vinegar - refreshing, complex and diabolically pleasant rudolf (1786), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 26, 2005 Lemon, oak, strawberries, some vaguely vinous notes (Grape soda) and acidic funk un the nose. Golden brown body with a thinnish head. Kinda dirty looking but I did pour in all the dregs. Flavor is grapey, funky, lemon, wheat. Quite tart. Nice dry finish. This is nice but I’d rather have a different brand.
