Commercial Description:
Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Deep golden color with a bit of orange, relatively lots of bubbles. Aroma: Tart, lemon, funk. Not as dry as some, and rather low lacticity. Very sour flavor, with fruity sweetness underlying and just a touch of caramel. A bit creamy and dusty. Nicely balanced and very drinkable. Quite a bit of bitter dryness in the finish. Rather well carbonated. Very nice, while not as interesting as some, but excellently done.

Served from a bottle from OTM. The appearance is a deep gold with a small white head. The aromas are dry tart wood tones and stale wet towel. Flavors of barnyard funk, real nice wood barrel notes, some musty perfume, and some brut champagne to it. The mouth is well carbonated almost to a champagne level. A solid geuze.

Bottle. Nice frothy head with short duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are cheese, vinegar, lactose and citrus. Quite smooth finish and not as astringent as other gueze’s might be.

Bottle enjoyed at Beer Mongers in Portland, Oregon. Tart, sharp and all the sourness we’d hoped for. Dry, puckering flavors emerged from this golden-copper bodied hazy beer. Very nice fruity complexities with some tingly snap. Boo yah!

very loud pop when i corked. pours out honey gold with a tall frothy white head that settled to a lumpy setting. the body is a hazy oarnge with a lot bubbles rising up in the center of the glass. the aromas are pungent and very yeasty. there is also some citrus, and skunk. wow, this is definatley new to me. i sipped it, and was amazed at how dry this beer finished. sour to the palate, but no where as near as bad this one sour i had but i will not mention it. not sweet, now bitter, weird in flavor for me and not bad, but definaley a session beer. i cant do this everynight, and i dont think i can pair it with food other then some sour cheese. very interesting and will try some others in the future.

Pour from Dr. Bill at the at the SD Strong Ale Fest 09, Thanks! Medium-dark gold pour, white head. Its got all the nice gueza aspects. Leather, sour apples, lemon zest, hay, wood, and light fruit. Nice.

Chardonnay like in its sour grape beginning, with a lovely tartness that intensifies as it warms and loses some of its effervescence. Very dry with essence of lemon.

bottle, pours a deep gold with a tall white head. Aroma is sour apple, vinegar, and white grapes. Sour peach and apple with bitter lemon peel and wild yeast finishing dry and very tart. Carbonation is high and the mouth is very crisp bordering champagne. Nice geuze.

Clear golden with a rather big fluffy white head. Aroma is horsey and citric with some rather nice funk and cheese notes. Flavour is clean, way too clean and straight forward. Mildly acidic with notes of lemon, lightly bretty but overall very clean with very little barnyard funk. Fizzy lively body which makes for a perfect refresher, simple dry finish.
