Very nice aroma of cherries, marzipan, some tart. Flavour is very tart, slightly bitter underneath, cherries. Fullbodied and lots of carbonation. Too sour for me. yalnikim (781), Wellington, New Zealand
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 22, 2008 Tasted 22/09/2008. 37.5cl bottle from Beerstore. Labelled Oude Kriek Vielle. Pours a murky ox blood red with a ballooning bright airy pink foam that collapses but lingers. Sour cherry, ripe strawberry, a little stone and woody spice on the nose. Acidic in the mouth, with a drying carbonation to add to the mix. Some pleasant fruit notes linger but this is far from a "fruit beer". Dry, quenching, acidic, spicy... very pleasant. Lightly funky. Nice with Camembert and crackers. stouby (1944), Holbaek, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2008 Beautiful red beer with a low but dense pink head. Aroma of vinegar, cherry and cardemom. The flavour is primarily sour and full of cherries. Again the spice is penetrating - cardemom, I believe. flatmatt (224), Northville, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2008 375 mL bottle, figured I’d see what this lambic thing was all about. Best by date April 2026. Pours bright red with a large pink-tinged head, active carbonation, and a couple fair-sized bits of sediment. Aroma is sour, tart cherry, strawberry, a little funky. Flavor is heavy sour cherry with hints of other red fruits like strawberry and raspberry. Tart cherry lingers quite strongly before disappearing. Well, it’s my first lambic, but the bold flavor has grown on me quite quickly. MoritzF (4954), Bochum, Germany

Acidic and slightly dusty cherry-fruity aroma with notes of almonds. Moderately acidic flavour, cherry-fruity, slightly mouldy taste with a dry, acidic tart and quite lasting finish with distinctive notes of sour cherries and bitter almonds. Very quaffable brew (24.08.08).
