To my delight, the initial pour yielded a beautiful pronounced pink head and produced an aroma that filled the room that included sugar, cherries, bitter seeds, as well as some nice lemony sour elements and the familiar farmhouse aromas associated with a well made kriek. Tastes of tarte cherries, tangy residual sugar, lots of sour mouth puckering tartness, hints of wild meadow wheat. Dry as can be on the mouthfeel with a long lasting delicate touch of cherries on the finish that seemed to linger forever. This was that rare bottle that had been aged to its absolute peak and is a true diamond in the rough! mcbackus (755), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

I found that it was light and dry and I could keep drinking it. Any sweetness was balanced by the sour and dry taste. Good Kriek. dball1869 (16), nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 25, 2007 Updated: Feb 19, 2008Rating #900 (and a fine choice for that milestone) - Pours reddish / copper with a pink head. The aroma is very sharp and tart with red and sour cherries, wild yeast and nice overall sourness. Fairly thin body that is sharp and crisp with a moderate amount of semi-sharp carbonation. Taste starts with a sharp gueze taste that has barnyard earthiness. Then some comes some sour cherries and light vinegar - very clean and refreshing. The finish has a tart grainy taste with some smoothness, but is short lived. Big thumbs up for this very nice fruit lambic. Rerate - numbers only, notes still valid. yngwie (5000), Kristiansand, Norway

(37,5cl corked bottle, served by the brewer of Oud Beersel.) A clear, candy-red beer with a pink head. A quite weak and a bit boring aroma with cherries leads to flavors of cherries, and both sourness and sweetness. It’s quite balanced and has an astringent and sligjtly warming mouthfeel. The finish is long, and lightly sweet. A quite nice beer. (070103) mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland
