Cherry and raspberry is strong up front, but fades in the finish into an artificial Aspartame-like flavor. The fruit actually tastes a lot like freshly-picked raspberries. Light-medium body with gentle carbonation. Brick red in color. Off-white head is small and filmish. Not bad, but not living up to expectations. I have a bottle of this at home and will definitely rerate this beer to see if I like it any better hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2006 Looks like a nice soft read/pink colour. he head is a soft pink also and rocky. This beer is somewhat cloudy. Strong sour cherry aroma. Light and soft on the palate. Grapefruit like acidic sourness. There is some bitterness to it as well. Mulling it around a bit, it has a kind of fresh hops taste at the end. Leaves the mouth a bit dry afterwards. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2006 Bottle (375ml). Poured deep ruby-red with a huge foamy-rocky pink head. Wonderfully funky-tart yeasty sour cherry aroma - burnt rubber tennis shoe, wet wool, all the good stuff, very dry. Taste is dry and astringent, sharp bitter funky yeast and sour cherry - simple but really excellent. Mouthfeel is sour, acidic, lively and sryupy - probably the best kriek I’ve had yet, this ain’t not fruit-juice syrup beer! SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2006 Reddish purple color, kind of like strawberry fresca, with a big pink head that was long lasting. Nose is very sweeet and sour with lots of cherry and sugar. The taste was just about the same, full and strong. Overall pretty good, enjoyable for a lambic, especially once it warms up a bit. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2006 Updated: Apr 11, 2006Looks so lovely, with that foamy light pink head and deep, dark red body; heartbreakingly beautiful in the glass. Damp wood, cherry, vinegar aromas. Tasted first overwhemingly like cherry seltzer, with the woody, sour flavors in the background; I found the carbonation overbearing. As I kept drinking, the other flavors came to the foreground but I still tasted that weird not-exactly-metallic flavor that seltzer has (the one you taste in flat seltzer which makes you realize that it’s not just the carbonation that makes it taste that way). Body felt a bit thin. I, like puzzl, would like to try it after some more aging.
rerate: had another bottle.. didn’t taste the seltzer-like qualities, nor that weird saccarin after-taste, that i sensed in the other. new aftertaste... this one was more like a mild blue cheese. puzzl (2635), New York, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2006 I suspect this bottle is from 2004 as it says best before 2024 (!). Beautiful cherry aroma, cheese, nice tartness and brett, slightly sour but mostly cherry. Pours is probably the most beautiful I’ve ever, with a deep glowing red body and large, wonderfully pink head. The large head shows in the palate though as the beer is a bit too aggresive and carbonated, coming across almost as seltzer when cold. No matter, though. As it warms, the beer calms down and offers cherry up front with barnyard tastes and a slightly harsh finish. Once the cherries past its a very dry, acidic afair; red-wine vinegar, perhaps. I’d love to taste this after a few (ten) more years aging.
