as soon as the cork is undone, this starts gushing from the bottle! color is dark raspberry, so cloudy that it’s opaque! head is foamy and pinkish white, clingy lacing. aroma is tart cherries, light sour barnyard. very carbonated, light mouthfeel, tart/sour cherry flavor, but less cherry flavor thatn in the nose. lost of funky wild yeast flavor to add "carahhkter". not too dry, not too acidic, a well balanced kriek. wow lots of carbonation. a little bit bitter in the finish, who would have guessed!

this was pretty unique and decent. sweet and sour. raspberry, blueberry, and lemon, orange. the citrus and the berries are fighting with each other... is that a boysenberry i detect?? :) very very dry, in fact , ifeel i needed a glass of water to finish it... meh...

A musty raspberry and cherry aroma. The beer poured reddish pink with a pink head. A very tart flavor consisting of some cherries, raspberries, and a hint of lemons. The finish is dry. Overall a good beer.

Red, hazy colour. Dense, pink head. Acidic aroma with notes of barnyard. Sour taste of cherries and grapefruit. Surprisingly thin.

(Bottle in Belgium a few years ago...). Although I went to Beersel quite a few times I always put off gojng here... am I gutted now! Still loads of the beer around but get it quick before it’s gone forever. I must admit I dont really like Oude Beersel beers that much, finding them quite bland and 1-dimensional, although the kriek is far more interesting having a very dry and sharp taste of cherries - more in the nose than the flavour. Interesting but not in the same class as Cantillon/3 Fonteinen.

(Bottle 75 cl) In this version called "Kriek Oud-Beersel" at 6% ABV. Faint reddish colour with a smal pink head. The sour , vinegary notes hit you as soon as the cork is removed and the tartness continue all the way through. This is a very traditional sour lambic, but lacks some finesse. Not really any trace of cherries - apart from the colour. 130498

375ml. corked bottle (best before 03/12/2023) thanks to Mullman for leaving this in my fridge. Light hazy red color with a small pink head. Aroma is sour cherries, straw, wet leather. Flavor is terrific! Tart cherries is the dominant flavor but are by no means overpowering. Extremely dry and thirst quenching.
