Looks purty! Smells sour with definite funk, kinda like vinegar soaked cardboard. Sweet cherries poke through the funk, creating an interesting perfume-ish quality. Initial taste is S-O-U-R. Wow! Kinda like eating unflavored citric acid. Damn, yo. But I like it! THe initial flavor and character is very gueuze-like. as Crosling said, a little overwhelming in the sour department at first, but grows better. After it crosses into my palate, Oak is present on top of the gueuze. Man, is this awesome. The oak and sour cherries grow more and more present as the beer warms. And, the alcohol warms my chest as well. This is agreat drink! Thanks to United Liquors in Frankfort for still having this when I stopped in. Glad this wasn’t the one I had to put back! Tastes wonderful. Very complex. Very sour with a lot of tart flavors. Initially it was a little overwhelming but I got used to it quickly and definately started to enjoy it. Dark sour cherries were next and were very enjoyable. The sourness and the cherry seem to blend together perfect and create a perfect lingering finish. Wood and a subtle dryness is also present but barely.

Taste is dry, tart with cherries. Slight taste of alcohol, with faint malt notes in the finish. Good stuff. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2004 This is like a whole bunch of different cherry varieties mixed into one. A smorghasbord of flavor, spicy, slightly smokey, and off dry, not overly sweet but very fruity, sour and tame. A very nice balance and a great way to round out my tasting of lambics this evening. Flavor has bitter cherries, white pepper, spicey, notes of honey, but slightly sweet. Thick mouthfeel. I liked this, but I haven’t tried many krieks to compare this to. I’ll have to re-rate it sometime after I’ve tried a few more. SG (456), San Clemente, California, USA

The aroma is sour, cherries, dirt, and complex. A very tart beer with a dominating sour presence compared with the subtle cherry element. Champagne-esque in its lighter mouthfeel, but the tart/sour hit on the front makes it a lively one. Tingly, refreshing. Extremely well made. World class. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 8, 2004 Aroma of sour cherry, and wet hay and other barnyard stuff, color is obviously red, flavor is sour, hint of cherry, very effervescent and carbonated, then more sourness, yet not too overpowering, finishes clean and dry. Delicious. Guess i will have to go out and buy a half dozen or so more of these as my local store still has a nice supply. haha Brodie (540), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2004 Aroma of cherries, light barnyard funk, musty, wet hay. Purplish ruby color, pink head, good retention. Moderate sourness, flavor is thin and watery, not much cherry flavor, a fresh raspberry tartness comes out as it warms. Ligh body, some astringency. A refreshing and simple lambic. Good transition lambic in between Lindemans and the good stuff.
