Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 13, 2004 An unclear red with no head. The aroma is of sweet cherry. The flavor is sweet and sour of cherries. A lovely beer. A lot better than the first time I tried it (at the brewery 2 years ago} - my tastebuds must hav evolved. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 30, 2002 Clear red. Nice fruity aroma. Acidic, tart. Complex and fresh. Good, but not as good as their gueuze. Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 2, 2005 Updated: Jul 14, 2007(Bottle 75 cl) In this version called "Kriek Oud-Beersel" at 6% ABV. Faint reddish colour with a smal pink head. The sour , vinegary notes hit you as soon as the cork is removed and the tartness continue all the way through. This is a very traditional sour lambic, but lacks some finesse. Not really any trace of cherries - apart from the colour. 130498

I thought I'd successfully conceptualized the oude gueuzes and krieks of this world, but it's all moot anyway because they're all great. They're all artisanal classics of the beer world, and I love each and every one of them. yespr (6944), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 6, 2007 37.5 cL bottle. Pours hazy red-brownish with a pink crispy head leaving a creamy lacing. Slight sweet and clearly sour cherries, minor sulphor note. Woody and earthy flavoured with a sourness going through from start to finish. Clear yeasty notes together with cherries. Decent but not great.
