kyzr (959), Belgrade, Montana, USA May 23, 2008 Thick deep red pour with pink head. Cherry nose. Flavor was much the same with big nose of fruit not too sour and sweet.
Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Oct 3, 2008 375 ml bottle. Dark red body with a small pale, pink head (almost white). Acid sour aroma with cherry. Flavor is quite acidic, dry, cherry fruity and a bit woody. Authentic, complex and nice. LilBeerDoctor (624), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 28, 2008 Bottle sampled on 09/26/08 on Night of the Funk. Pours red with a small pink head. Aroma and flavor of cinnamon and tart cherry. Very nice! fredandboboflo (618), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 28, 2008 Bottle from 08 Night of the Funk. Aroma of sour cherry with subtle funk. Flavor the same, a nice mesh of sour, tart cherries with the funk. Borresteijn (582), Amstelveen, Netherlands Sep 28, 2008 37,5cl Bottle @ KBF in Geel. Deep pinkish red colour, pink head. Very nice aroma of cherries, marzipan, some tart. Flavour is very tart, slightly bitter underneath, cherries. Fullbodied and lots of carbonation. Too sour for me. yalnikim (664), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 22, 2008 Tasted 22/09/2008. 37.5cl bottle from Beerstore. Labelled Oude Kriek Vielle. Pours a murky ox blood red with a ballooning bright airy pink foam that collapses but lingers. Sour cherry, ripe strawberry, a little stone and woody spice on the nose. Acidic in the mouth, with a drying carbonation to add to the mix. Some pleasant fruit notes linger but this is far from a "fruit beer". Dry, quenching, acidic, spicy... very pleasant. Lightly funky. Nice with Camembert and crackers.
