Tap poured a clear yellow color with white head. Aroma was heavy lemon with a touch of wheat. The flavor was like a lemongrass shot with not much of a body or beer taste at all. Finish was dry.

Serving: Draft. Appearance: Hazy, deep gold color with a small, foamy, white head. Aroma: Banana, wheat, yeast, and lots of lemongrass. Pretty good nose! Flavor: Heavy on the lemongrass almost to the point of being a little like Pledge furniture polish. An otherwise mild taste with a hint of butter in there. Palate: Medium, soft carbonation with a light mouthfeel and a medium-short, lemony finish. Overall: All of the lemongrass gets to be a bit much as you continue through the glass. It does have good body and seems to be well put together though.

On tap 07-19-09, second trip to the brewery. A nice hazy yellow with little almost no head. The aroma is fantastic a punch in the face of lemongrass. The taste was average as it reminded me a little it of a citronella candle. Novelty off it wore off quick.

Bottle Pours a cloudy yellow with a deminishing fizzy white head. Has a good aroma of citrus and hefe. The carbgonation is good. Flavor is good. A touch tart but very refreshing. Has a light body. A watery texture. The finish is solid with a clean aftertaste. This is a great refreshing beer on a hot Carolina day.

Bottle from Tina. This beer started off really nice. Lemongrass is a strong flavor though and it comes off a bit too strong here. If the character was a bit more restrained, I would have enjoyed this one much more. Almost lemon-Pledge like as I got about half way through the bottle I shared with ucusty. I really wanted to love this one, but it was just a bit too much.

Thanks to Sam for sharing this one. Hazy gold pour thick white head and spotty lace. Lemony aroma. Waxy mouth-feel. Lemon, grains, spice, and banana.

Sampled at Brewgrass. This really could have gone either way -- great unique beer or an experiment gone wrong. Luckily it was the former. I loved this beer! Hazy golden pour, white head. A bit of banana and clove as you’d expect from a hefe, but much more lemongrass (and, well, lemon and grass). This was tart and refreshing; a real oasis of a unique fresh light beer at the festival. Only question: I wonder if I would get sick of this if I drank more than a pint? Somewhat irrelevant, I guess, as even novelty beers have their place. I suspect this brew is more than that, thought.

Stopped in here on the way up to Corolla. Appearance was quite cloudy and yellow. Aroma was like a real wheat beer, but the banana and clove were lessened by the lemongrass aroma. I was surprised how big the lemomgrass smell was. This one went down pretty good. I don’t think I could drink this all afternoon long, though, The lemongrass did tend to get stronger.
