Commercial Description:
A pale lager of gargantuan proportions. Rich honey-like aromas with a mouth full of malty sweetness makes this beer the most approachable of our beers

After popping the cap in NC, this now clocks in at 8%. Fresh growler from brewery, May 2007. Pours slightly cloudy pale golden with a thick off-white head that dissipates to a thin coverage that persists and leaves some lacing. Somewhat one-dimensional aroma of prominent spicy noble hops and tart green fruits (pears, granny smiths) along with some flowery/perfumy and light biscuity notes. Flavor well-balanced between lightly toasted pale malts and tart hops. Some green fruit flavors come through in the flavor profile as well. Hops linger in a nicely balanced, slightly dry finish. Moderately thick, creamy mouthfeel with moderate prickly carbonation works well for style. Little alcohol present. Nice, balanced, sessionable 8% bock.

This one had sweet fruit tones but the finish was a wee bit dry for me. I did like that it was more carbonated than the other OBX brews.

Clear golden/amber body with white head. Aroma has an undifferentiated moderate sweetness. Taste is moderately sweet, spice, honey, caramel, lime. Medium body.

Bery sweet with a hint of citrus in the aroma. Medium/thick bodied, sweet caramel/honey malts (not too syrupy), finish is malty with nuts and honey and then mostly dry.
