This used to be a pretty decent IPA but it seems like they changed their recipe lately and it’s not as good. Bright orange mellow colour, citrus and grassy smell. Taste is bitter, rosy, hoppy, but the balance is unremarkable and the finish is aggressive and seems half-hearted.

Apr 6, 2008 Draught at Ushi-Tora, Shimo-Kitazawa, Tokyo. Pours cloudy golden with a medium head. Potent citrussy aromas and flavours. Great bitterness. A great Japanese IPA.

Oct 7, 2007 Tap @ Popeye’s: Yellow gold, light head and lacing. Nose of light hop, subtle and light malt. The hops are bitter, but not nose dominant. Decent IPA, but a bit lacking overall.

Oct 5, 2007 Poured a hazy golden color with a white head. Citrus and earthy hops with some aged malt character in both the aroma and the flavor. Semi-dry finish with a light bitterness.

Sep 22, 2007 Thanks to daiginjo for this one. Deep amber/orange beer. Musty malt aroma with slight oxidation showing through. Chewy sweetness with orange/citrus hoppiness. Light nuttiness in the malts. Moderate herbal/spicy bitterness. Good balance on this one.
