Sweet malt with light raisins notes in aroma, and fruity esters. In mouth, barrage of hops with nice malt base, and woody oak notes. Rich, a bit harsh but definetly enjoyed. On tap, August 2005. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA

Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, pine/grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, pine/grapefruit. Nice bite in the finish. Medium body with some resin. Needs a bit of rounding, but still quite nice. marcus (1869), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2005 This amber ale poured with a short off-white head. This is one of the hoppiest beers I have tasted, both in terms of aroma and bitterness. The oak conditioning and generous malting seem to have balanced the heavy hopping. bb (2919), Martinez, California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 23, 2002 This is quite an IPA. Beautiful amber color. Nice head. Strong bitterness tempered by a full malty body. Strong citrus hop flavor and aroma. Probably my favorite beer at Pacific Coast, although better served from the cask.
