pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 26, 2008 Tap & Cask @ brewpub: Clear amber color with an off-white head. The aroma shows a balance of hops and malts. There is kind of a burn/bite to it with flavors that resemble peat, shoe leather and musty basement. I guess I didn’t like this one - lacking flavor. WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Apr 20, 2007 Sampler at the Brew pub, 3/31/07. The speciality ale on draft of the bunch. Pours deep amber with a thin white head. No nose. Malty balanced taste more malty than hoppy. Decent. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA May 3, 2006 Draft. Copper color with a thin off-white head. Fresh citrus hop aroma with toasted malt. Woodys/tannic/acetic malt flavor with some fruitiness. jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA Aug 10, 2002 Tap. The first of an eight beer sampler. A berry fruit aroma and flavor with a medium body. joet (1699), Fulton, California, USA Mar 6, 2002 Rounded hop and body feel from possible oxidation and thick body, a bit of caramel and apple fruit, roasty notes, tannic finish.
