Commercial Description:
Brewed originally for the millennium, this Burton style ale is brewed using two yeasts and French oak. The end product is a strong, malty, dark amber and very smooth ale. The water used was Burtonized to make this brew more in the Burton tradition.

Reddish amber with a thin white head. Light sweet malt aroma, woody natured. Good whiskey malt taste, woody and nutty, with long sustained mild hops. Lingering and rich bodied. Quite nice. On tap, August 2005.

This light amber ale poured with a short off-white head. It was very malty and slightly sweet and carbonated, with a more bitter finish.

Draft. Amber beer with a big off-white head. Fruity aroma. Rich thick malt flavor with some fruitiness and oak. There’s adecent depth to it, and a certain smoothness. Nice old ale, though nothing really stands out - it’s just well done and nicely balanced.

Rating #1 Tap (7 3 6 4 15). I had an aged Y2-Ale the day before I had this on tap. Maybe it was the age of the Y2-Ale or maybe it was just a higher quality brew, but this one does not compare to its brew mother. It was malty, dark, and had a fruit aroma. Rating #2 Tap (7 3 7 3 16). A hazy amber color with no head. High in alcohol with a rich full body.
